Dean of Students February Update

Hello EMS Parents and Families,

As we wrap up the month of February and are moving into March, I am in awe of how fast the year is moving along. Our final winter sport, wrestling, is wrapping up, and it has been a very successful season so far. Spring track and soccer registration is open and their Spring season starts in the next couple of weeks.

As we finish the third quarter, and how fast time goes, it’s a good time to think about our mindset of the month for 7 Mindsets is The Time is Now! Taking time this month and in our everyday lives to embrace every moment, learning to be vulnerable, being in the zone, and acting with purpose can help us to cherish the time we have and live in the present. You can access information about this mindset and ways to incorporate it in your everyday life at home by clicking on here.

The resources that the 7 Mindsets curriculum provides for teachers, students and parents is wonderful. The parent newsletter above provides conversation starters and activities for parents to do with their students, as well as ways you can incorporate it into your own lives. As we continue to reflect on the implementation of this curriculum, your feedback is important. Please take a few moments to complete this survey about 7 Mindsets.

Also, as we enter into our final quarter of the year, just as a sports team many times remind themselves and their team of the need to push through adversity and finish strong, take some time this month to remind your child of doing the same. Staying engaged in classes, asking for help and working as a team will help all of our students succeed in the classroom.

Erie Middle School is an incredible place for our students to learn and grow. It is an honor to continue serving such an outstanding community of students, teachers, staff, and families. I look forward to seeing you at many of our future events and celebrations. If you have any questions or if I can provide additional assistance to your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at 303-828-3391.

Sincerely,

Erin Brueggeman
