Dawson Summer Initiative (DSI): FREE Summer
(If you would like to learn more about DSI, please click on this link to watch a brief video (3:38) about the program: Welcome to DSI!
I hope that this email finds you and your loved ones healthy and well during these unprecedented times. What a year 2020 has been! Dawson Summer Initiative (DSI) offers a free summer academic program that follows a thematic approach and is geared to high-achieving, independent students who are currently in Grade 6 and Grade 7.
Over the past ten summers, we have enjoyed working with students from your school and over 30 different schools predominantly in the St. Vrain, Boulder Valley, and Adams 12 School Districts. The program is geared toward effective collaborators who seek opportunities to work with peers from other schools, sharing like-minded goals. DSI feels that students benefit from engaging with a diverse group of advanced learners to solve current complex issues affecting us all.
Even though summer may seem far away, the application process runs from December 1, 2020-February 3, 2021, and includes confidential teacher recommendations and counselor/principal forms (links included below).
While we hope that meeting in person will be possible this coming summer, all programming and events will be in line with local and national guidelines around gatherings and may be subject to change. This past summer we offered a shorter, successful online synchronous program and will do so this coming summer, if necessary.
