On the Friday Late Start days of February 5 and March 5, all students at Erie Middle School will be fulfilling state mandated health education requirements. Students will be involved in a series of 10 lessons (five per day) covering the State of Colorado Comprehensive Health Standards, which focuses on personal decision-making, emotional and social well being, healthy eating and wellness, drug and alcohol abuse prevention and violence prevention. These standards will be taught with lessons in Schoology that collectively will constitute a Health grade, which will appear as a pass/fail grade on the fourth quarter report card. If you would like more information about the Colorado Comprehensive Health Standards per grade level or information about how to opt your student out of specific lessons, please go to our website or click here. If you have any questions regarding the health instruction or curriculum, please contact me directly.
