The EMS Lego Robot Tigers competed last Saturday at Poudre High School in Fort Collins at their inaugural First Lego League competition. The team of 10 members presented their recycling project and programmed their robot to complete missions on this year's Trash Trek themed mission field. The Robot Tigers competed at the tables 3 times and were able to improve their score each time. The team won the Judges Award trophy at the end of the day. Coaches for the team are Bonnie Palmer and Dave Brand. The logo was created by Ethan Kniss.
The EMS Lego Robot Tigers have been working hard to improve recycling efforts at EMS through their Trash Trek Challenge. The group, who will be competeing in a First Lego League competition on November 14th, have been evaluating Erie Middle School's recycling offerings. One thing they noticed is that the spoons and forks we use in the lunchroom are nonrecyclable. After doing some research and contacting the school district, the team has been able to get recyclable sporks to be available for students instead of the other utencils.
This is an urgent reminder to parents of 8th graders. The final deadline for submitting your child’s personal recognition yearbook ad is coming up on November 17th. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a lifetime opportunity. For more information, please visit www.theyearbookcompany.com or call 951-274-9561. Don’t delay as space is limited.
