Course Catalog

Erie Middle School works to empower our students to achieve academic growth and become lifelong learners, positive global contributors, and future leaders.  To that end, we are proud to offer a variety of elective options for our Erie Middle School Students.

Select the appropriate grade level below and review the choices each grade has available to them.  Please note that electives are not guaranteed, however, our amazing counseling staff will always do their best to match you with as many choices as possible.

6th Grade

All sixth grade students will take the following classes: LANGUAGE ARTS, MATH, SCIENCE, SOCIAL STUDIES.
Students will be placed in the appropriate math and language arts class based on data and teacher recommendations. Students will also take a year long music class. They will choose from Orchestra, Band or Choir. In addition, students will be randomly assigned four of the following electives. 6th grade students do not choose their electives.

  1. Physical Education
  2. Technology and Beyond
  3. Spanish Explore
  4. Drama
  5. Art Discovery

7th/8th Grade

Students choose a total of 8 elective options from the list attached. Please make sure to choose 4 alternate options as course offerings may change depending upon enrollment numbers.  

Note that elective offerings will be randomly assigned to students schedule within the year and choices may not be guaranteed. 

Please review the grade appropriate Elective Choices, fill out the Elective Request form and return to the counseling department.
