Attendance Message from Mr. Laufenberg

Just a reminder about attendance from Mr. Laufenberg:  Try and encourage your child to be here as much as possible. While we know that life events happen, please have your student check in with our health clerk if they are ill before they call home. We also know that regular school attendance leads to greater achievement and better feelings about school in general. Every student, every day is our motto, and your child's future is our priority. Thank you for your support!

Academic Eligibility and iPads

Here at Erie Middle School, we strive to empower all students to achieve academic growth, become lifelong learners, positive global contributors, and future leaders. Each day kids amaze us as they work hard and strive for excellence in everything they do. This quarter, we are putting in a new policy of academic eligibility and restrictions on iPads for students that may need a little extra guidance and support.

Year Book Sale

The yearbook staff is excited about the 2019 yearbook and has been working hard to include all of the great stories and students of Erie Middle School. We will soon be finalizing the number of books that we will be ordering, but there is still time to order your yearbook if you have not already.

Principal's Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance

We would like to celebrate students with 100% attendance for 2nd quarter as well as students who earned a 3.75 GPA with a Principal's Honor Roll/Perfect Attendance Breakfast.  We have many students that will be celebrated along with their families, so we are splitting the event into two days.  6th grade will be 7:30-8:15 AM on Thursday, January 17th in the cafeteria.  7th and 8th grade will be 7:30-8:15 AM on Friday, January 18th in the cafeteria.  Teachers will also be celebrating students who made the Honor Roll by earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher during Pride Time.

EMS Has Gone Solar

EMS is solar!  Our solar panels were installed at the end of the 17-18 school year and were up and running over summer.

We have a 365 KW rooftop system with 1000 panels (or modules ).

Some of the advantages of this system are:

Solar generation of 525,000 kWh/year

These panels meet 72% of our school’s electricity needs and have an average savings of $52,000 per year!
