Our students sounded great!
Hello Tiger Families!
It has been a BUSY week at EMS! The middle school wrestling season kicked off on Monday with our first meet at Westview Middle School. Our wrestlers had a strong first showing! We had an outstanding band concert led by Mr. Tyler on Tuesday. Our students sounded amazing! We had our annual Spelling Bee on Wednesday, and it was a doozy! Rumor has it that Mr. Gisclair went through his back-up list and his emergency list of extra words before Elliot finally took home the championship!
We are also kicking off a new attendance incentive on February 26th. Check it out below!
Also, parents, please take a moment to check out the Recent Updates section of our newsletter each week. This is where a lot of our information is posted.
We hope our students enjoy their 4 day weekend!

Colorado Rapids Attendance Reward

We have partnered with the Colorado Rapids to reward and incentivize attendance here at Erie Middle School by giving students who have no more than 2 days missed, from February 26th – March 15th, a complimentary ticket to a Colorado Rapids match.
The Rapids boast one of the most family-friendly and fun game day experiences in town. From celebrating the goals together, to the roar of the stadium crowd, to the hot dogs at halftime, Colorado Rapids games are where memories can be made. Students who qualify will receive a ticket link voucher to redeem their complimentary ticket with purchase of additional discounted tickets. Vouchers will be redeemable for select Spring date, March 30th or April 20th.
Please reach out to Mr. Tomasek with any questions!

Theater Day
SVVSD Theatre Day is a yearly event for middle school students in the district to learn about theatre opportunities that they will have access to in high school. There were workshops on various areas of theatre, from acting to stage management to props-building and more. The middle school students were also treated to some performances from the high schools including a sneak peek at Erie High School’s spring musical, and talk-backs with the students representing their high school theatre departments.

Attendance Tips
Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow

If your student is absent for a full day, you have 24-48 hours to call in with the reason for the absence, after that it will be marked unexcused. Per board policy, if a student is absent 10 days excused or not, absences will begin to be marked “unexcused” unless previously noted and approved by school administration or there is a doctor’s note provided to the school.
If you know your student will be absent, tardy or checking out of school please fill out this Google form.
Please provide the school with a note from the doctor, orthodontist, dentist, therapist, or any appointment each time you go.
