Parent Teacher Conferences
We have one more night of Parent Teacher Conferences scheduled for Monday, February 10th from 3:20-7:30 p.m.
All Conferences are in person and need to be scheduled through our online Meet the Teacher Scheduler.
- Conference time slots are 5-10 minutes in duration depending on the teacher. Your schedule will indicate the time of each conference slot.
- All teachers have a dinner break from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. and no conferences can be scheduled during this time.
- The Meet the Teacher Online Scheduler is open for parents to sign up until Monday, February 10th at noon.
- Meet the Teacher does not recognize punctuation marks such as a dash or apostrophe in parent or student names. So please enter names without punctuation.
- You can schedule your conferences all on one night or a combination of the two nights. Please do not schedule more than one conference with each of your student’s teachers.
Tips for Scheduling Parent/Teacher Conferences:
- Please read the directions on how to use the Meet the Teacher Online Scheduler before booking your appointments.
- Please set up conferences first with classes that are more of a priority, based on your student’s performance in that class.
- When booking conferences, do not schedule conferences back-to-back as you will need to allow time to travel between classrooms. If the above dates do not work for you to meet with teachers, please contact the teacher directly via email. Click here for a list of teacher emails.
- Have you set up an Infinite Campus Parent portal to review your student’s grades? If not, please contact our registrar, Ann Cisar at [email protected]
- No conferences will be scheduled with Advisory teachers.
Please call the EMS school office Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. if you need assistance in signing up for Conferences. 303-828-3391
Parent Teacher Conference Meals
(From your EMS PTO)
Help feed our teachers for the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences.
Our teachers work hard to make sure they can meet with as many people as possible during Teacher Conferences. So let’s help feed them! The PTO will be providing meals, but we’d love your help with drinks and desserts to enjoy with their meals. Thank you for your support.
The Annual Hope and Gratitude Event is coming up soon, and we need your help! Each year, Soaring Heights invites all Erie feeder schools to participate in decorating Briggs Street with lovely paper votives showing the hope and gratitude of our students. This year’s event is on Feb 28th with a rain/snow date of Mar 7.
Our amazing administration is willing to take care of purchasing, counting and distributing supplies to kids to make votive bags, which is a lot of the work! However, we could still use parents/guardians to help with the following:
* To collect the finished votives from EMS and bring to Briggs Street the day of the event
* To bring rocks or little baggies of sand to put in each votive as they are set up (to keep them from blowing away)
* To help calculate and chalk out the path on the street for the votives to be set out on
* To help manage our youth volunteers as they set up votives and decorate the street with uplifting chalk notes
If we can’t get any help from parent volunteers, we may need to pull out of the event this year, as board members are not available to help with this particular event. If you have interest in participating, please email both [email protected] and [email protected] by Feb 5th
Thank you!
Katie Curtis
EMS PTO President

Energy Drinks
Recently, we have noticed that energy drinks are becoming a source of disruption in our classrooms. In addition to spills that create messes and distract from learning, the consumption of these drinks has led to challenges in maintaining a focused and productive environment for both teachers and students. To minimize classroom disruptions, we are implementing a new policy on energy drinks:
- This week: Drinks brought to school were held until lunch or the end of the day.
- Starting next week: Drinks will be collected and not returned.
We’ve informed students and appreciate your support in reinforcing this at home. Our goal is a focused, clean, and distraction-free learning environment.
Thank you for your support!
Project Launch

Late Starts

Late starts occur on the first Wednesday of each month, with school beginning at 10:30 AM. Buses will run 2.5 hours later than their usual schedule.
Upcoming Late Starts:
Wednesday, March 5th
Wednesday, April 2nd
Wednesday, May 7th
Main Street
For the safety of your student, please do not drop off or pick up your student on Main Street. Dropping off and picking up on Main Street also causes traffic build up. We have a drop off lane on the North side of the school off of Cheeseman Street. Please see the photo below for our drop off procedures.
Please DO NOT ENTER the bus pick up lane in front of the school between 7:40am – 8:10am and 2:40pm – 3:15pm. The teacher parking lot is also not a drop off or pick up spot for your student.

Student Fees

2024-25 classroom fees have been posted to your student’s Infinite Campus account. Please log on to your Infinite Campus parent portal and click on Fees.
If your family would qualify for free or reduced lunch, that designation will apply to your fees. Click here for the 24-25 Free/Reduced application. You will be notified from our district office about your qualification.

Attendance
Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow

Thank you for everything you do to communicate regarding your child’s absences. We have a lot of traffic in and out of our main office during the school day so we have procedure in place to be more efficient and smooth for our students and families.
PICK UP
We strongly encourage you to fill out this google form ahead of time to expedite the pick up process. This not only helps the front office staff, but helps you get in and out quickly. We make every effort to call your student up to the office 5 minutes before the time you put on the form so they are ready to go when you get to school. If you arrive before your student makes it up to the front office, we will have you wait for them in the first lobby.
DROP OFF
When a student is coming into school late, you can sign them in ahead of time OR they can sign themselves in when they come into the office. You can drop them off, make sure they get in the front doors, and we will take it from there. When dropping off your student, there is no need for you to come into the front office with your child.
We understand that sometimes you will not be able to sign your student out until you arrive at the school. In this case, we have posted a QR code in the first lobby and have added chairs for your convenience. Please remember to bring your ID each time you pick up your student. If an ID check is needed, we will have you step into the front office. After that ID check we will have you wait for your student in the first lobby. We will have them meet you there as they come through the front office.
We have many times that the person picking up doesn’t know our procedures. Please share this information with your spouse, significant other, grandparents, siblings or anyone else that may be picking up your student.
As a reminder, always get a note from any type of appointment your student has for attendance purposes.
If your student is absent for a full day, you have 48 hours to call in with the reason for the absence, after that it will be marked unexcused. Per board policy, if a student is absent 10 days excused or not, absences will begin to be marked “unexcused” unless previously noted and approved by school administration or there is a doctor’s note provided to the school.
Extended Absences
Extended Absences: Please notify the school at least 2 weeks prior to any extended absences via our Google form. You and your student will also need to sign off on our “Extended Absence Form” located in our front office. This form helps students and parents understand how to communicate with teachers and make up schoolwork after the absence.
