Tiger News
August 25, 2023
Hello Tiger Families!
We did it! We crushed our first full week back to school…and we didn’t just survive, we thrived! We had lots of amazing things going on in our building, and one that is worth highlighting is Advisory!
This week our students decided on mascots and created chants, discussed the importance of community, collaborated to design the tallest tower out of specific supplies, and then problem-solved how to guess how many bouncy balls were in a large container. These activities were focused on relationship-building, interaction, collaboration…and being a part of our community. Starting next week, we will begin our weekly rotation in Advisory. On Mondays, students will select a teacher-sponsored club to participate in every week, Tuesdays and Thursdays will focus on skill-building lessons, and Wednesdays and Fridays will focus on academic support and goal-setting.
It is early in the school year…and we are already seeing positive results! We are really proud of our teachers for working to implement this new program, and we are excited to see the fun that it brings.
Also, to the parents of the students who won the buckets of bouncy balls today…sorry. But it was really worth it in the name of community-building (and fun!).
Have a great weekend,
