Event poster for Erie Middle School's 3rd Annual Bubble Blast on September 26, fundraising starts September 10, 2025.

We launched our 3rd Annual Bubble Blast Fall Fundraiser on Wednesday…and Tiger Parents, you are already showing your support!

The campaign will end with our Bubble Blast event on Friday, September 26, 2025! Everybody gets to participate!

We have some fun prizes and incentives that will definitely make this campaign exciting and interactive for our students and families. There are individual, group, and grade level incentives and celebrations. We have a goal to raise $45,000 school-wide! And if we go over our goal, we have some super secret “bump” goals ready to rock and roll!

Support from our families is SO important to our school. This fundraising drive will support:

  • A classroom supply stipend for every teacher to buy supplies that benefit every student in their classrooms
  • New Apple TV in the library for easy projection to make it a more comfortable learning space
  • Classroom upgrades to improve our learning environment
  • New racks of folding chairs to support seating at our events
  • Hallway upgrades to improve the feel of our halls
  • Supplies to support our Advisory program, including skills lessons, passion clubs, and academic support
  • Books for our classroom libraries to support our initiative around creating a culture of literacy in our school
  • Grants for clubs and sports
  • Other student and teacher events (conferences, 8th grade Beach Bash, field trips, Continuation, Grade Level Assemblies and more!)

Your enthusiastic participation is key to the success of this fundraiser, and we’re encouraging all parents/guardians to donate and share with their family and friends.  All online donations will come through  Erie Class Dollars. It is super easy to donate!

If you or a family member would like to make a donation via cash or check (payable to ” Erie Middle School PTO”), please feel free to bring or mail your contribution directly to the EMS front office.

Your support means the world to us. Together, we can make a positive impact for all of our students and staff, and this gives us, as a school, the opportunity to say “YES!” Thank you in advance for being an active participant in our fundraising efforts. Here’s to a successful and inspiring Bubble Blast!

Parent/Teacher Conferences Image Description: The background is a green chalkboard with the words "Parent/Teacher Conferences" written in white, resembling chalk handwriting. In the foreground, there is a stack of books on the right side of a wooden desk. A red apple sits on top of the stack. To the left of the books, there is a cup filled with colorful pencils. The image conveys the theme of education and communication between parents and teachers.

Parent/Teacher Fall Conferences are in person at Erie Middle School on September 29, October 1st, 6th, and 8th between 3:20 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Parents can schedule appointments using our Meet the Teacher portal beginning Thursday, September 18th at Noon.

Did you know that Erie Middle uses a data-based approach to support student mental health at school? Twice per year, all students complete a confidential survey where they identify if they would like additional support from a school counselor or if they would like to be a part of a support group. Support groups are short term (4-6 weeks) small groups that meet once per week during Advisory. These groups create a structured setting in which students learn and discuss new skills about topics such as managing stress, navigating friendship issues, and gaining more confidence. The groups and surveys are facilitated by our Mental Health Interventionist, Ben Knighten. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to him at [email protected].

Colorado State Seal with a red outer ring containing the words 'State of Colorado' at the top and '1876' at the bottom. The ring is bordered by small blue stars. Inside the center shield, the top section shows a snow-capped mountain range, and the bottom section has crossed tools: a pickaxe and sledgehammer. Below the shield is a banner with the Latin motto 'Nil Sine Numine' meaning 'Nothing without providence.' Above the shield is a Roman fasces symbolizing governance, with the words 'Union and Constitution,' and an eye enclosed in a triangle, representing the Eye of Providence, radiating light.

Attendance is an essential part of our state required October Count. The 2026 STATE COUNT DAY is Wednesday, October 1st.  It is super important that we have strong attendance on this day! Our state requires us to confirm our enrollment through this count process. Please help us by helping your student get to school on time on October 1st (and every day!).

Colorful illustration of books on a shelf with the text "Scholastic Book Fair" above in bold red letters.

The Erie Middle School Scholastic Book Fair is almost here (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND-as always-every book they buy earns rewards for our school.

The Book Fair is open for our Parent/Teacher Conferences on 9/29, 10/1, 10/6, and 10/8 from 3:00-7:30 p.m.. We’re also open at times during the school day so students can visit during lunch or advisory if they choose.

We are looking for volunteers to help set up the fair, assist students, and run cash registers September 26-October 9.  If you have a couple of hours to volunteer, please click on the SignUp link below to see what is available and if there are any shifts that work with your schedule.  Together we can make this book fair a huge success!

Erie Expectations:

At EMS, we have some key expectations that we review each year with our students.
We call these top six expectations “Erie Expectations,” and we spend some time reviewing these with students throughout the first week of school.
Check out the Erie Expectations Slides

Important School Expectations:

Backpacks Students should keep their backpacks in lockers due to space and safety issues in classrooms.
Hats and Hoods Students are allowed to wear hats. Wearing hoods is not allowed in the building.
Cell Phones and Headphones/Earbuds Students should not be using cell phones during school hours and headphones may be used with adult permission for academic purposes.

Gifted and Talented Referrals

Each year, schools in St. Vrain Valley School District complete a process to identify students who demonstrate exceptional ability or performance in one or more academic areas and may, therefore, qualify for Gifted/Talented educational services. These students usually perform at least two years above grade level in their strength area(s), and they require additional academic challenges in order to support their continued educational growth and progress.  In addition, they usually demonstrate characteristics of unique creativity and high motivation in their strength areas.

Referrals are open through the month of September and will close on the last day of the month. Referrals after that date will be addressed on a case by case basis. Completing a referral guarantees a review of the student profile to determine if testing is recommended for the student. The process for identification requires a body of evidence and often takes place throughout the school year.

The process takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.

Please contact the grade level gifted and talented representative with any questions:

Jennifer Saless 6th grade

Samantha Fenster 7th and 8th grade

For bus and student safety, please DO NOT ENTER the bus pick up lane in front of the school between 7:40am – 8:10am and 2:50pm – 3:15pm.

The Parent Loop is located on Cheeseman St. on the north side of the school.

Please DO NOT use the teacher parking lot as a drop off or pick up spot for your student

Immunizations, Meds and Health Plans

Now is a great time to make certain that your student’s vaccination and immunization forms are up-to-date. You can also drop off any necessary emergency/daily medications for your student, with the required accompanying paperwork, to the main office Monday – Friday, from 8 am to 3:30 pm. If you have any questions about health related needs for your student, please contact our Health Clerk, Wendy Osborn ([email protected]).

Important Immunization

The State of Colorado requires students to get the TDAP immunization between the ages of 11 and 12.
This immunization tends to significantly impact our compliance as a school. If your student has recently turned 11, please make an appointment to get this immunization.

Thank you for everything you do to communicate regarding your child’s absences. We have a lot of traffic in and out of our main office during the school day so we have procedure in place to be more efficient and smooth for our students and families.

We strongly encourage you to fill out this google form ahead of time to expedite the pick up process. This not only helps the front office staff, but helps you get in and out quickly.  We make every effort to call your student up to the office 5 minutes before the time you put on the form so they are ready to go when you get to school. If you arrive before your student makes it up to the front office, we will have you wait for them in the first lobby.

When a student is coming into school late, you can sign them in ahead of time OR they can sign themselves in when they come into the office.  You can drop them off, make sure they get in the front doors, and we will take it from there. When dropping off your student, there is no need for you to come into the front office with your child.

We understand that sometimes you will not be able to sign your student out until you arrive at the school. In this case, we have posted a QR code in the first lobby and have added chairs for your convenience.  Please remember to bring your ID each time you pick up your student.  If an ID check is needed, we will have you step into the front office. After that ID check we will have you wait for your student in the first lobby. We will have them meet you there as they come through the front office.

We have many times that the person picking up doesn’t know our procedures. Please share this information with your spouse, significant other, grandparents, siblings or anyone else that may be picking up your student.

As a reminder, always get a note from any type of appointment your student has for attendance purposes.

If your student is absent for a full day, you have 24 hours to call in with the reason for the absence, after that it will be marked unexcused. Per board policy, if a student is absent 10 days excused or not, absences will begin to be marked “unexcused” unless previously noted and approved by school administration or there is a doctor’s note provided to the school.

Extended Absences

Extended Absences: Please notify the school at least 2 weeks prior to any extended absences via our Google form. You and your student will also need to sign off on our “Extended Absence Form” located in our front office. This form helps students and parents understand how to communicate with teachers and make up schoolwork after the absence.

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Every year, St. Vrain Valley Schools prints an up-to-date version of the Code of Conduct for students and families to review. This important document guides students and school staff on what expectations for school conduct and the consequences for behaviors that fall outside of those expectations. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

Please see the updated Code of Conduct. The online Code of Conduct acknowledgement form is ready for parent signature in Infinite Campus. If you are needing help with accessing and signing the Code of Conduct please see the instructions here.

We serve breakfast starting at 7:45 in the Cafeteria and it ends at 7:50. Breakfast must be eaten in the Cafeteria. For more information regarding the “Healthy School Meals for all” please click this link.

We eat lunch by grade level and have outside time whenever possible. Students will START outside during our lunch time and then we will bring everyone in to eat together. This year, there will be no cost for lunch. However, students will still need to enter their student number as we will track how many lunches we serve each day. We have microwaves available for students to use, and students are always welcome to bring their own lunch.

Engaged students are successful students! We offer a variety of clubs and intramural sports. Most of these will begin in the early part of the school year and information will be shared in the morning announcements and in our Friday newsletters.
